About

Albert Fookson was born and grew up in Belarus, USSR. He received his master's degree incello performance and teaching from the Belarusian State Conservatory in 1986. From 1986to 1989, Albert worked as a cellist at the Belarusian Opera Theatre orchestra.In 1989, after immigrating to the USA, Albert started learning piano tuning and technology inLos Angeles with a piano industry veteran Jim Verdugo, RPT. For 3 years Albert apprenticedwith him and another wonderful piano technician Isaac Sadigursky, RPT.In 1993 Albert started working for local Yamaha piano dealer Keyboard Concepts. There,Albert started working with Yamaha disklaviers as well as regular acoustic pianos. In 1994, hemoved to Chicago and joined another Yamaha dealer, Karnes Music, where he became headpiano service technician and stayed in this position for 7 years. At that time he had a chanceto serve a lot of concert instruments and prepare them for such wonderful artists as ChickKorea, David Benoit, John Tesh, David Grusin, Little Richard, Lori Line, and Burt Bacharach,among others.

Albert has been a member of the North Shore Chapter of Piano Technician Guild since 1995.He became a Registered Piano Tuner in 2002 after passing all the exams. Albert is an activemember of this chapter and had served as its vice president from 2005 to 2008.In 1997 Albert graduated from Yamaha's Little Red School House program and later fromDiskavier program. Albert regularly attends PTG annual conventions as well as otherprofessional seminars.

Due to the expansion of his personal piano tuning business, Albert had to leave his full timeposition at the dealership in 2001. He continues to successfully serve over 2000 private andinstitutional clients, among which are Willow Creek Community Church, Edison Park LutheranChurch, Wheeling High School, Buffalo Grove High School, The Peninsula hotel in Chicagoand others.
